Anita Rodarte

For the past 41 years, Anita I. Rodarte has devoted her law practice to assisting clients in family law related matters. Anita’s extensive experience includes negotiated settlement and litigation of complex family law matters such as asset valuation and division, spousal support, parenting and custody conflicts, interstate custody and child support disputes, guardianship of minors, and enforcement of parental access and support issues.

Anita's Story

Anita is an active member of numerous professional organization relating to family law, including the Missouri Bar Association Family Law Section, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Bar Metropolitan Bar Association (Family Law Chair 1988). For over 28 years she has been a fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and was President of the Missouri Chapter AAML in 2022. Anita currently on the Advisory Committee to the AAML Foundation (President 2015-2017) and Council Member of the International Commission of Couples and Family Relations, an international multi-discipline organization of professionals.

Anita has been honored with many awards in the field of family law including the 2025 & 2015 Family Law Practitioner of the year – Kansas City designation by Best Lawyers in America and the 2017 Roger Krumm Family Law Practitioner of the Year (Missouri Bar Family Law Section). She has been annually recognized in Best Lawyers in America and Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers each year since 2005 in the field of Family in addition to being named in Kansas City Magazine’s Super Lawyers of Missouri and Kansas as one the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Missouri and Kansas. Anita was honored to receive a special recognition award for her outstanding commitment to youth and families in the Jackson County, Missouri Family Court.

Anita is particularly known for experience in the Appellate Courts where she has briefed and argued more than 40 appeals of family law cases. In addition, Anita provides consultation assistance to attorneys in family law litigation and appellate matters.

Anita is licensed to practice law in Missouri and limits her practice to family law matters. She graduated from the University of Missouri- Kansas City with a J.D. with distinction in 1984. She authored Chapter 6, “Dissolution of Marriage”, Missouri Bar Family Law 7th Edition Deskbook and is a frequent Lecturer on various Family Law topics at continuing legal education programs.
